Price: $15

CoutureWrap, Cloth Gift Wrap ($5 extra, see description below)

These unique handmilled soap pebbles, made in Afghanistan, are beautiful, extremely creamy and delicately scented--and they last forever. The supersaturated, eco-friendly and all natural soaps are molded to resemble beautifully polished, slightly irregular marble river stones. The craftsmen use natural ingredients purchased from local farmers and their own distilled fragrances and natural coloring. The soap is made from pomegranates (a unique ingredient used to produce skin-nourishing pomegranate seed oil in Arghand's workshop), apricots, roses, licorice root, almonds and other indigenous plants using ancient techniques. Use these luxurious soaps in a guest bathroom or bring one as a travel soap. A great hostess gift. Each soap "pebble" is about 3" x 2.5".

Artist Bio
Arghand soaps are produced by a privately-funded cooperative started in 2005 by American journalist Sarah Chayes in the area around Kandahar, Afgthanistan -- an area known for its pomegranates and other fruits and flowers. The co-op buys all ingredients for its soaps from local farmers to diversify the local economy.
