This adorable multicolor tabletop gecko, created entirely of strips of recycled magazine paper, is the ultimate in cool, quirky eco-friendly gifts. It's made in Brazil by artisans who have perfected the art of building standup paper sculptures with no armature at all. No two are exactly alike. Geckos (the real ones) are often a welcome addition to tropical homes since they eat insects. Claudia Garzesi is a designer for the Recycled Planet Store. This New York-based company's accessories are created by under-employed Brazilian craftsmen, providing them with jobs while utilizing recycled materials to reduce waste in landfills.
